This will be a summer to remember with plenty of sunshine and little or no rain. If you are struggling to think of ideas to entertain your pet, then we have you covered with ideas of activities you can involve your pet in.
What better way to enjoy the sun than at the beach. This is always a number one option once the sun comes out. Check for your nearest pet friendly beach and load up the family and head off for the day. Dogs love the beach and are always excited to experience something new.
2. Make ‘Pup’sicles
These are a special treat for your pet to help them cool down in the sun. You can be as creative as you like with the ingredients you use. You can use any shape or size mold to make your ‘Pup’sicles. We suggest a mix of tuna, watermelon and water. Freeze all the ingredients in the mold and give them to your dog to enjoy.
When it is warm outside it is a welcome relief to jump into the water for most dogs, so they can cool down. When they come out of the water we recommend you leave you pet fully dry off in the shade because if they are wet and, in the sun, the water can become very hot and overheat your pet.
Find somewhere new to go on a walk and explore a new location. Use our PawTrails device to track your dogs speed and the distance they travel. This makes it more exciting.
The summer is an ideal time to pack up the camping gear and head out into the open with your pet.
Don’t knock it until you try it. Doga is yoga for dogs but you can join in too. It’s a fun way to spend time with your pet.
7. Treasure Hunt
This is a great way to keep your dogs mind stimulated by hiding some of their favourite toys and treats around the garden for them to sniff out. Why not make it more exciting and head out to a woodland and mark where you have hidden the treasure on a map, then put the PawTrails GPS Smart Collar on your pet , which will give you peace of mind knowing you can live track them on the PawTrails app.
8. Play Frisbee
Frisbees are a great toy to throw around for your pet that are easy for them to catch. P.s If you ever see anyone from the PawTrails team go over and ask for your very own PawTrails Frisbee to take home to your pet.
9. New Tricks
This isn’t something that can be done in a day, but it is good fun to train you dog with a new trick to show your friends. Dogs are extremely intelligent and will pick it up eventually with a bit of repetition.
10. Obstacle Course
You don’t need anything fancy to set up your very own obstacle course in your back garden. Be creative and use things you already have lying around in the garden shed. Why not invite some of your friend’s dogs over and host your own mini dog agility competition?
